Mina Ridge/Camma Ridge had always been on my to do list as over the years I'd heard lots about this area as being an awesome ski location in the winter and a hidden gem for swimming the upper tarns in the heat of the summer. So I was happy when a good friend offerd to take me up. Unfortunaly we were too late for a quick dip and too early for a ski but there was still lots of beautiful sights to look at.

How to get there??     The drive to the trailhead of Minna Ridge will take anywhere from 40 to 60 minutes. Leaving from Port Alberni head east on Hwy 4# to "Summit Main" Mt Arrowsmith Old Ski hill road. Turn right off Hwy 4# drive to the end of this road, turn left and head up the Cameron Main line for 10km staying left and head up the Lake Main rd. For about 6km, take the right turn at the fork and drive over Cameron river about 150 m futher on. Once on the other side park in the small pull-off, and walk 100m up the road towards Labour Day Lake taking the first spur road on your right, you'll pick up on the trail half way up and follow flagging from there on. If wanting to head up Camma Ridge Trail instead walk another 200m further on and keep eyes peeled for an overgrown spur road on your right and hike to it's end before picking up the trailhead.
